To commemorate the centenary of Indian visual artist, PadmaShri Sukumar Bose (1912-1986), the book has been commissioned by Bose Family Trust to take an incisive look at the artist, his works and the context of his art production in India and Southeast Asia. The publication provides an overview and a critical insight into the work of the artist in developing a language that spoke for a generation of artists through their move towards independence and post independence India. Eminent writers, scholars and personal friends have contributed to this book giving an incisive look at the artist and his work.
